NOTE:

Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board
snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information See HOW
TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS or HOW TO
TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM .

If DTC P0111 is stored at the same time as DTC P2183, troubleshoot DTC
P0111 first, then recheck for DTC P2183.

6. Compare the value of ECT SENSOR 2 and the ambient temperature.
Does the value of ECT SENSOR 2 differ 5.4 Β°F (3 Β°C) or more from the ambient temperature?
YES : REPLACE ECT SENSOR 2 , then do the repair verification .
NO : Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at
ECT sensor 1, ECT sensor 2, and the PCM.
5. ECT sensor 1 performance check:
ο‚‘
1. Start the engine, and let it idle for 10 minutes.
2. Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.
