YES : Repair a short in the VCC wire between the PCM (A30, A35, B29) and each part that was
disconnected in step 2, then do the repair verification .
NO : Update the PCM See PCM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE if it does
not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM See PCM UPDATE or PCM
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , then do the repair verification .
REPAIR VERIFICATION

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Reconnect all connectors.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
4. Reset the PCM with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or HOW
TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .

5. DO THE PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE .
6. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P0651 indicated?
YES : Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM and the following parts, then go to step 1.

1. DTC check:

1. Clear the DTC with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or
HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .

2. Start the engine, and let it idle 1 minute.
3. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame
P0562 CHARGING SYSTEM LOW VOLTAGE
Is DTC P0562 indicated?
YES : DO THE DTC P0562 TROUBLESHOOTING.
NO : Go to step 2.
2. Problem verification:

1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description
Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame
P065A ACG NO CHARGING MALFUNCTION
Is DTC P065A indicated?
YES : Go to step 3.
NO : Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check the alternator and the drive belt.
3. Drive belt check:

1. INSPECT THE DRIVE BELT .
Is the drive belt OK?
YES : Repair or replace the alternator See ALTERNATOR OVERHAUL or ALTERNATOR
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
NO : REPLACE THE DRIVE BELT .
