verification .
NO : Repair an open in the CRANK P/CRANK P wire between the PCM (C42) and the CKP sensor, then
do the repair verification .

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Reconnect all connectors.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
4. Reset the PCM with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or HOW
TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .

5. DO THE PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE .
6. Do the CKP pattern clear/CKP pattern learn procedure See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE
A/T SYSTEM or HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .

7. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

P0335 CKP SENSOR NO SIGNAL
Is DTC P0335 indicated?
YES : Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CKP sensor and the PCM. If the PCM was updated,
substitute a known-good PCM See PCM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE , then
recheck. If the PCM was substituted, go to step 1.
NO : Troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM See PCM
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE . If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are
indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

INTERRUPTION
1. Problem verification (idling):

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
ο‘
2. Clear the DTC with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or
HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .

ο‘
3. Start the engine, and let it idle for 10 seconds.
4. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0339 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

P0339 CKP SENSOR CIRCUIT INTERMITTENT INTERRUPTION
Does the HDS indicate FAILED?
YES : The failure is duplicated. Go to step 3.
NO : If the HDS indicates PASSED, go to step 2. If the HDS indicates NOT COMPLETED, keep idling
until a result comes on.
2. Problem verification (test-drive):

1. Test-drive the vehicle for several minutes in the range of these recorded freeze data parameters:

2. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0339 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

Does the HDS indicate FAILED?
YES : The failure is duplicated. Go to step 3.
NO : If the HDS indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor
connections or loose terminals at the CKP sensor and the PCM. If the HDS indicates NOT
COMPLETED, retest and check the OBD STATUS again.
3. Connectors and terminals condition check:

Are the connections and terminals OK?
YES : Go to step 4.
NO : Repair the connections or terminals, then do the repair verification .
4. CKP pulse plate visual check:

1. REMOVE THE CKP SENSOR , and check for damage to the CKP pulse plate.
Is the pulse plate damaged?
YES : REPLACE THE CKP PULSE PLATE , then do the repair verification .
NO : REPLACE THE CKP SENSOR , then do the repair verification .
