Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board
snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information See HOW
TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE
FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .
ο¬
If DTC P2422 is stored at the same time as DTC P0451, troubleshoot DTC
P2422 first, then recheck for DTC P0451.

P0451 FTP SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE
PROBLEM
1. Problem verification:

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
ο‘
2. Clear the DTC with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or
HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .

3. Start the engine, and let it idle for 1 minute.
4. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0451 with the HDS.

P0451 FTP SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE PROBLEM
Does the HDS indicate FAILED?
YES : REPLACE THE FTP SENSOR , then do the repair verification .
NO : If the HDS indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor
connections or loose terminals at the FTP sensor and the PCM. If the HDS indicates NOT COMPLETED,
keep idling until a result comes on.
REPAIR VERIFICATION (OBD STATUS CHECK)

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Reset the PCM with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or HOW
TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .

3. DO THE PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE .
4. Start the engine, and let it idle for 1 minute.
5. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0451 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

P0451 FTP SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE PROBLEM
Does the HDS indicate PASSED, FAILED, or NOT COMPLETED?
PASSED : Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs were indicated, go to the
indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
FAILED : Go to step 1 and recheck.
NOT COMPLETED : Meet the test condition, and check the OBD STATUS again.
