Is DTC P062F indicated?
YES : If the PCM was updated, substitute a known-good PCM See PCM REMOVAL AND
INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE , then recheck. If the PCM was substituted, go to step 1.
NO : Troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM See PCM
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE . If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are
indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
DTC P0630: VIN NOT PROGRAMMED OR MISMATCH

Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board
snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information See HOW
TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE
FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .

This DTC is stored only when the PCM does not have the VIN information
of the vehicle. Use the HDS to input the missing VIN information.

P0630 VIN NOT PROGRAMMED OR MISMATCH
1. VIN check:
ο‘
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Check the VIN with the HDS.
ο‘
Does the HDS show the vehicle's VIN?
YES : Go to step 4.
NO : Go to step 2.
2. VIN check (rewrite):
ο‘
1. Input the VIN to the PCM with the HDS.
Does the HDS show COMPLETE?
YES : Go to step 4.
NO : Go to step 3.
3. DTC check:
ο‘
1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P062F indicated?
YES : DO THE DTC P062F TROUBLESHOOTING.
NO : Go to step 4.
4. PCM check:

1. Clear the DTC with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or
HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .

2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and wait 5 seconds.
4. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P0630 indicated?
YES : Update the PCM See PCM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE if it does

INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE , then recheck.
NO : Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are
indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
