Honda CR-V Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system ➜ DTC P1298: ELD Circuit High Voltage

Is DTC P1297 indicated?
YES : Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the under-hood fuse/relay box and the PCM. If the PCM
was updated, substitute a known-good PCM See PCM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM
UPDATE , then recheck. If the PCM was substituted, go to step 1.
NO : Troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM See PCM
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE . If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are
indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

P1298 ELD CIRCUIT HIGH VOLTAGE
1. Problem verification:
ο‚‘
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
ο‚‘
2. Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.
Threshold
Signal
Current conditions
Unit
Values Unit Values
ELECTRIC LOAD VALUE Less than 0.2 A
Do the current condition(s) match the threshold?
YES : The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO : Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at
the under-hood fuse/relay box and the PCM.
2. Open wire check (IG1 ACG line):
ο‚‘
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Disconnect the following connector.
ο‚‘
Under-hood fuse/relay box 3P connector
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition IG ON (II)
Under-hood fuse/relay box 3P connector: disconnected
Test circuit IG1 ACG
Test point 1 Under-hood fuse/relay box 3P connector No. 3 (RED)
Test point 2 Body ground

Is there battery voltage?
YES : The IG1 ACG wire is OK. Go to step 3.
NO : Check the No. B2 (15 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box. If the fuse is OK, repair open in the
IG1 ACG wire between the No. B2 (15 A) fuse and the under-hood fuse/relay box, then do the repair
verification .
3. Open wire check (ELD line):
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
3. Disconnect the following connector.
PCM connector A (49P)
ο‚‘
4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition IG LOCK (0)
Under-hood fuse/relay box 3P connector: disconnected
PCM connector A (49P): disconnected
Test circuit ELD
Test point 1 PCM connector A (49P) No. 34 (WHT)

Is there continuity?
YES : The ELD wire is OK. Go to step 4.
NO : Repair an open in the ELD wire between the PCM (A34) and the under-hood fuse/relay box, then
do the repair verification .
4. Open wire check (GND line):
ο‚‘
1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition IG LOCK (0)
Under-hood fuse/relay box 3P connector: disconnected
PCM connector A (49P): disconnected

Is there continuity?
YES : The GND wire is OK. Go to step 5.
NO : Repair an open in the GND wire between the under-hood fuse/relay box and G302, then do the
repair verification .
5. ELD check (substitution):
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
1. SUBSTITUTE A KNOWN-GOOD ELD .
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
