CAUTION: Do not insert your fingers into the installed throttle body when you turn
the ignition switch to ON (II), or while the ignition switch is in ON (II). If you
do, you will seriously injure your fingers if the throttle valve is activated.
NOTE:
Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and
review the general troubleshooting information See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT
THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS or HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T
SYSTEM .

DTC Description
P2135 TP SENSOR A/B INCORRECT VOLTAGE
CORRELATION
Is DTC P2135 indicated?
YES : The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO : Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at
the throttle body and the PCM.
2. Throttle body operation check:
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Disconnect the intake air duct from the throttle body.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
4. Clear the DTC with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or
HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .
ο‚‘
5. Visually check the throttle valve operation.
Does the valve temporarily move to its fully closed position?
YES : Replace the throttle body See THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ,
THROTTLE BODY DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY or THROTTLE BODY CLEANING ,
then do the repair verification .
NO : Go to step 3.
3. Determine possible failure area (PCM, others):
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
3. Disconnect the following connector.
PCM connector C (49P)
ο‚‘
4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition IG LOCK (0)
PCM connector C (49P): disconnected
Test circuit TH 1, TH 2
Test point 1 PCM connector C (49P) No. 30 (LT GRN)
Test point 2 PCM connector C (49P) No. 31 (RED)

Is there continuity?
YES : Go to step 4.
NO : Update the PCM See PCM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE if it does
not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM See PCM REMOVAL AND
INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE , then do the repair verification .
4. Shorted wire check (TH 1 line to TH 2 line):
ο‚‘
1. Disconnect the following connector.
Throttle body 6P connector
ο‚‘
2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition IG LOCK (0)
PCM connector C (49P): disconnected
Throttle body 6P connector: disconnected
Test circuit TH 1, TH 2
Test point 1 PCM connector C (49P) No. 30 (LT GRN)
Test point 2 PCM connector C (49P) No. 31 (RED)

Is there continuity?
YES : Repair a short in the TH 1 wire to TH 2 wire between PCM connector terminals C30 (TH 1 line)
and C31 (TH 2 line), then do the repair verification .
NO : The TH 1 and TH 2 wires are OK. Replace the throttle body See THROTTLE BODY
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or THROTTLE BODY CLEANING or THROTTLE BODY
DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY , then do the repair verification .
REPAIR VERIFICATION
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Reconnect all connectors.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
4. Reset the PCM with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or HOW
TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .
ο‚‘
ο‚‘
5. DO THE PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE .
