Is there continuity?
YES : The INJ wire is OK. Update the PCM See PCM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM
UPDATE if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM See PCM
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE , then do the repair verification .
NO : Repair an open in the INJ wire between the PCM and the injector, then do the repair verification .
REPAIR VERIFICATION

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Reconnect all connectors.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
4. Reset the PCM with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or HOW
TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .

5. DO THE PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE .
6. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P0201, P0202, P0203, or P0204 indicated?
YES : Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the injector and the PCM. If the PCM was updated,
substitute a known-good PCM See PCM UPDATE or PCM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , then
recheck. If the PCM was substituted, go to step 1.
NO : Troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM See PCM UPDATE
or PCM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to
the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

P0222 TP SENSOR B CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE
1. Problem verification:

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Clear the DTC with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM or
HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS SYSTEMS .

3. Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

YES : The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO : Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at

YES : Go to step 4.
NO : Go to step 3.
3. Shorted wire check (TH 2 line):

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
3. Disconnect the following connectors.
PCM connector C (49P)
Throttle body 6P connector
ο‘
4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition IG LOCK (0)
PCM connector C (49P): disconnected
Throttle body 6P connector: disconnected
Test circuit TH 2
Test point 1 Throttle body 6P connector No. 4 (RED)

Is there continuity?
YES : Repair a short in the TH 2 wire between the PCM (C31) and the throttle body, then do the repair
verification .
NO : The TH 2 wire is OK. Update the PCM See PCM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM
UPDATE if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM See PCM
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE , then do the repair verification .
4. Determine possible failure area (throttle body, others):

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Disconnect the following connector.
Throttle body 6P connector
ο‘
ο‘
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition IG ON (II)
Throttle body 6P connector: disconnected
Test circuit VCC3(ETCS)
Test point 1 Throttle body 6P connector No. 5 (TAN)

Is there about 5.0 V?
YES : Replace the throttle body See THROTTLE BODY DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY or
THROTTLE BODY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or THROTTLE BODY CLEANING ,
then do the repair verification .
NO : Go to step 5.
5. Open wire check (VCC3(ETCS) line):

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
3. Disconnect the following connector.
PCM connector C (49P)
ο‘
4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition IG LOCK (0)
Throttle body 6P connector: disconnected
PCM connector C (49P): disconnected
Test circuit VCC3(ETCS)
Test point 1 PCM connector C (49P) No. 22 (TAN)
Test point 2 Throttle body 6P connector No. 5 (TAN)

Is there continuity?
YES : The VCC3 wire is OK. Update the PCM See PCM REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or
PCM UPDATE if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM See PCM
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or PCM UPDATE , then do the repair verification .
NO : Repair an open in the VCC3(ETCS) wire between the PCM (C22) and the throttle body, then do the
repair verification .
REPAIR VERIFICATION

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

ο‘
ο‘
2. Reconnect all connectors.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
4. Reset the PCM with the HDS See HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE FUEL AND EMISSIONS
SYSTEMS or HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE A/T SYSTEM .

5. DO THE PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE .
