Honda CR-V 5th generation

The fifth-generation Honda CR-V was produced from 2016 to 2022. The car has undergone major changes in design and technical content. The fifth generation model lineup includes 4 versions: LX, EX, Touring and EX-L.

Compared to its predecessors, the car has an aggressive appearance and larger dimensions. The new model is characterized by stylish headlights with LED elements and exquisite running lights. The radiator grille is made of a coarse-grained plastic mesh, which is located in a chrome frame. The dynamics and power are emphasized by silver roof rails and black plastic protective covers on the wheel arches, bumper, and sills.

The driver's seat is adjustable to 10 positions. Leather upholstery adds elegance and sophistication to the interior. The front panel has a 7-inch multimedia touchscreen display. The audio system is represented by 7 speakers. Comfort in the cabin is achieved thanks to two-zone climate control. The entertainment system supports Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

The doors can be unlocked without using a key.

The car has an impressive trunk with a volume of 589 liters, and with the rear row of seats folded down, it reaches 1669 liters. The rear doors are equipped with an electric drive. Satellite radio and a navigation system are provided.

The lineup of power engines includes a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 186 hp. The turbo engine has a displacement of 1.5 liters and produces 193 horsepower. The engines are mated to a CVT. The 1.6-liter diesel engine has an output of 160 hp and is mated to a 9-speed automatic. The car is available with front and all-wheel drive.

The fifth generation includes the CR-V Hybrid, which became the third hybrid model along with Honda's Inside Hybrids and Accord. The lineup features a 2-liter 145-horsepower engine with a 184-horsepower permanent magnet electric motor.

The 5th generation car is equipped with a full range of comfort and safety systems. There is a rearview camera, lane-departure monitoring, parking assistant and remote engine start. The radiator grille has active shutters.

The 5th generation model received the Honda Sensing security system. The car is protected against collisions, equipped with automatic braking, lane departure warning, frontal collision prevention and adaptive cruise control.

The main competitors of the fifth-generation CR-V are the Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forester, Kia Sportage and Ford Escape.
