Disconnecting
To disconnect the connector, pull the lever (A) while pushing the lock tab (B) down, then pull the connector
(C).

Connecting
To connect the connector, push the connector into the connector sleeve (A). As the connector is pressed in, the
lever (B) moves to the locked position.

HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE REAR ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM
REAR SCREEN OPERATION
The rear screen power and the back light on/off depends on the screen panel opening angle.

When the rear screen panel opened more than 15Β°, the rear screen turns on.
When the rear screen panel opened more than 130Β°, the screen back light is off (power is still on).
AUTO DIAGNOSIS
When a new DVD player unit is powered up after installing into a vehicle for the first time, the self-diagnostic
screen appears.
When check status and the DVD player unit connection was OK, press the REAR POWER button and the
diagnostic screen should not appear again.
LEVER-LOCKED CONNECTOR
Disconnecting

REAR ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
How to Check the Rear Entertainment System Condition
The rear entertainment system has a self-diagnostic function that appears on the rear screen.

CHECK THE VEHICLE BATTERY CONDITION FIRST.
Do not check the headphones when you are doing the self-diagnostic
function because the sound may be intermittent.
ο¬
The self-diagnostic function does not find every problem with the rear
entertainment system.
There are two ways to enter the diagnostic mode:
HOW TO ENTER THE SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION USING THE DVD PLAYER UNIT
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Open the rear display, then turn the REAR POWER off.
3. Press and hold the REAR POWER button for one second, then press it 3 more times within 3 seconds. On
the last press, hold the REAR POWER button until the diagnostic screen appears.

The wireless headphones LED blinks at one second intervals when in the se
diagnostic mode. This indicates the RES is in the diagnostic mode, even whe
nothing appears on the screen because of a display problem.

The DVD player unit LED blinks every 0.5 seconds. When the RES is running
the self-diagnostic, the REAR POWER button LED blinks. When the self-
diagnostic function is complete, you will see one of the two following results

During check: The REAR POWER button LED blinks.
ο‘
If the diagnosis result is OK: The REAR POWER button LED first blinks
and then stays on.
ο‘
If the diagnosis result is NG: All the buttons and indicator LEDs blink.

4. To end the self-diagnostic function, turn the REAR POWER button off, or turn the ignition switch to
LOCK (0). After completing the repair work, run the self-diagnostic function again to make sure that
there are no other malfunctions.
HOW TO ENTER THE SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION USING THE WIRELESS REMOTE
CONTROL
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Open the rear display.
3. Press each of these buttons in the order listed within 2 seconds of each other: DVD, AUX, FAST
FOWARD, AUX to enter the self-diagnostic function mode.

The wireless headphones LED blinks every 1 second when in self-
diagnostic function. This indicates the RES is in the diagnostic mode,
even when nothing appears on the screen because of a display
problem.
The DVD player unit LED blinks every 0.5 seconds. When the RES is
running the self-diagnostic, the REAR POWER button LED blinks.
When the self-diagnostic function is complete, you will see one of the
two following results:

During check: The REAR POWER button LED blinks.
ο‘
If the diagnosis result is OK: The REAR POWER button LED
blinks.
ο‘
If the diagnosis result is NG: The all buttons and the all
indicators LED blinks.

4. To end the self-diagnostic function, turn the DVD player unit REAR POWER button off, or turn the
ignition switch to LOCK (0). After completing the repair work, run the self-diagnostic function again to
make sure that there are no other malfunctions.
DIAGNOSIS MENU
Use the DVD player unit SOURCE button or the wireless remote control LEFT or RIGHT buttons to select the
diagnosis.
CONNECT
This screen shows the connection check status for each units.

If Connection shows NG (red color), check the connection between faulty units.
IF RAM CHECK SHOWS NG (RED COLOR), REPLACE THE REAR CONTROLLER AND
SCREEN.
