Is there sound from the speakers, and is the sound quality normal in each mode?
YES : Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time. Check for loose connections at the audio unit
and each speaker.
NO : Go to Poor AM or FM radio reception or interference (With Navigation) troubleshooting.
NO : Go to Poor AM or FM radio reception or interference (without navigation) troubleshooting.
NO : Go to AUDIO DISC DOES NOT PLAY TROUBLESHOOTING.
NO : GO TO SOUND QUALITY DIAGNOSIS .
AUDIO UNIT BUTTON ILLUMINATION DOES NOT WORK

CHECK THE VEHICLE BATTERY CONDITION FIRST .
Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
The climate control unit 32P (black) connector and the HFL control unit 32P (grey) connector are the
same shape. Make sure the correct connector is connected to the applicable unit.
1. Problem verification:

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Turn the combination lighting switch to the parking light position.
3. Check if the audio unit buttons are illuminated.
Are the buttons illuminated?
YES : Intermittent failure, the audio unit is OK at this time.
NO : The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
2. Determine possible failure area (interior lights circuit, others):

1. Check if several other buttons that are not related to the audio system are illuminated.
Are the buttons illuminated?
YES : Go to step 3.
NO : Troubleshoot the interior lights.
3. Open wire check (B CAN-H line, B CAN-L line):

1. Turn the combination lighting switch off.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
3. Disconnect the following connectors.
Audio unit connector B (20P)
Gauge control module 32P connector
ο‘
4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition IG LOCK (0)
Audio unit connector B (20P): disconnected
Gauge control module 32P connector: disconnected
Test circuit B CAN-H
Test point 1 Audio unit connector B (20P) No. 13 (PNK)
Test point 2 Gauge control module 32P connector No. 30 (PNK)
Test circuit B CAN-L
Test point 1 Audio unit connector B (20P) No. 3 (BLU)
Test point 2 Gauge control module 32P connector No. 31 (BLU)

Is there continuity?
YES : REPLACE THE AUDIO UNIT .
NO : Repair an open in the wire(s) between the audio unit and the gauge control module.
AUDIO UNIT DOES NOT EXIT ANTI-THEFT MODE
