Is there continuity?
YES : REPLACE THE MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY UNIT .
NO : Repair an open in the wire(s) between the multi-information display unit and the gauge control
module.
DISPLAY DOES NOT DIM OR BRIGHTEN WITH DIMMER (WITHOUT MULTI-INFORMATION
DISPLAY)

NOTE:
CHECK THE VEHICLE BATTERY CONDITION FIRST .
Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
The climate control unit 32P (black) connector and the HFL control unit
32P (grey) connector are the same shape. Make sure the correct connector
is connected to the applicable unit.
1. Problem verification:
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
2. Turn the combination lighting switch to the parking light position.
3. Rotate the dashlights brightness controller knob several times.
Does the audio display brightness change?
YES : Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
NO : The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
2. Gauge control module check:
1. Turn the combination lighting switch off.
2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
3. Disconnect the following connector.
Center display unit 12P connector
4. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
5. Turn the combination lighting switch to the parking light position.
6. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2 while rotating the dashlights brightness
controller knob several times.

Test circuit ILLUMI+, ILLUMI- (BULB)
Test point 1 Center display unit 12P connector No. 7 (GRY)

Does the voltage change?
YES : REPLACE THE CENTER DISPLAY UNIT .
NO : REPLACE THE GAUGE CONTROL MODULE .
ERROR CODE: CHECK ANTENNA IS DISPLAYED (WITH NAVIGATION)

NOTE:
CHECK THE VEHICLE BATTERY CONDITION FIRST .
Check XM radio reception in an open area. Poor reception/interference can
be caused by tall buildings, mountains, or high-voltage power lines.
Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
1. Problem verification:
1. Park the vehicle outside with a clear view of the southern horizon.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
3. Turn on the audio system, and press the CD/XM button to select the XM radio.
Is Check Antenna displayed?
YES : The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
NO : Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
2. Determine possible failure area (XM antenna, others):
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. SUBSTITUTE A KNOWN-GOOD AM/FM/XM ANTENNA .
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
4. Turn on the audio system, and press the CD/XM button to select the XM radio.
Is Check Antenna displayed?
YES : Go to step 3.
NO : Replace the original AM/FM/XM antenna.
3. XM receiver check:
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
2. Substitute a known-good XM antenna lead, and recheck.
Does the symptom/indication go away?
YES : Replace the original XM antenna lead.
NO : REPLACE THE XM RECEIVER .
ERROR CODE: CHECK ANTENNA IS DISPLAYED (WITHOUT NAVIGATION)
