NOTE:
To recalibrate the display to the true temperature, remove the outside
air temperature sensor (A), but leave it connected. Submerge the
sensor and a thermometer (B) in a container of ice water (C). Select
the calibration mode as described above, then recalibrate the display
to the true temperature.

REMOVAL
1. Passenger's Dashboard Undercover
1. Gently pull down the passenger's dashboard undercover (A) to detach the clips (B), then pull away
the undercover to release the pins (C) from the holder (D).

2. Glove Box
1. Remove the bolts (A).

2. Release both glove box stops (A) by pushing them in, then let the glove box (B) hang down.

3. Detach the glove box damper hook (A), then remove the glove box (B).

TEST
NOTE:
Before testing the motor, check for climate control DTCs.
1. Passenger's Air Mix Control Motor - Test
1. Disconnect the passenger's air mix control motor connector.
NOTE:
Incorrectly applying power and ground to the passenger's air mix
control motor will damage it. Follow the instructions carefully.

2. Connect battery power to terminal No. 6 of the passenger's air mix control motor, and ground
terminal No. 7; the passenger's air mix control motor should run smoothly, and stop at MAX HOT.
If it does not, reverse the connections; the passenger's air mix control motor should run smoothly,
and stop at MAX COOL. When the passenger's air mix control motor stops running, disconnect
battery power immediately.
3. If the passenger's air mix control motor did not run in step 2, remove it, then check the passenger's
air mix control linkage and door for smooth movement.

If the linkage and door move smoothly, go to step 4.
ο¬
If the linkage or door sticks or binds, repair them as needed.
4. Measure the resistance between terminals No. 1 and No. 3. It should be between 4.2 kohms and 7.8
kohms.
5. Reconnect the passenger's air mix control motor connector.
6. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
7. Using the backprobe set, measure the voltage between terminals No. 2 and No. 3.
MAX COOL: About 1.0 V
MAX HOT: About 4.0 V
8. If either the resistance or the voltage readings are not as specified, replace the passenger's air mix
control motor.
INSTALLATION
1. Passenger's Heater Duct
1. Install the passenger's heater duct (A).

1. Install the glove box frame (A).

and the pins (C) into the holder (D) securely.
