2. After learning, turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
4. CKP Pattern - Clear/Learn
1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC) (A) located under the driver's side of the
dashboard.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
3. Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle. If it does not communicate, go to the DLC
circuit troubleshooting.
4. Select CRANK PATTERN in the ADJUSTMENT MENU with the HDS.

5. Select CRANK PATTERN CLEAR, and clear the CKP pattern.
6. Select CRANK PATTERN LEARNING with the HDS, and follow the screen prompts.
7. After learning, turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
8. Disconnect the HDS from the DLC.

1. PCV Valve - Inspection
1. Check the PCV valve (A), hoses (B), and connections for leaks or restrictions.

2. Start the engine.
3. At idle, make sure there is a clicking sound from the PCV valve when the hose between the PCV
valve and the intake manifold is lightly pinched (A) with your fingers or pliers. If there is no
clicking sound, check the PCV valve washer for cracks or damage. If the washer is OK, replace the
PCV valve, and recheck.
